Carolingia Fortieth Anniversary

Carolingia is planning to celebrate its 40th Anniversary on April 30, 2011. The first Carolingian event was a St. Valentine's Day ball in February, 1971 at Wellesley College, but in order to accomodate all the activities and groups that want to participate, we are holding the celebration a bit later in the season.

The site is the German Club in Walpole, MA. Lord Valerian of Somerset is autocrat and Lady Richenza is head cook.

Valentineanddisciples

We want this event to showcase the incredible breadth and depth of Carolingian experience. Almost every type of activity can be accomodated at the site (performance, dancing, fighting, fencing, arts and science exhibits, and more). We would like to hear from any Carolingian past or present with their ideas for contributing to this grand festivity!

May Day 2010

May Day was held on May 9 this year, at its usual location at Brandeis. Both fencing and fighting championships were held to choose new Champions for the barony for the year. The fencing champion is Lord Gavin Blackwode and the fighting champion is Sir Federach. There was socializing, a little drumming, and a meeting of our Order of the Daystars, our award for service to the barony. A new daystar was inducted, Lord Gundormr. A new silk baronial banner was unfurled, made by Irayari Vairavi.
