The Baron's Players of Carolingia will be performing Measure for Measure in Burlington, MA on April 8 and 9. Information about our approach to the play and the public performance on the 8th (plus two stunning publicity pictures by Baron Aonghais Bruce in his role as professional photographer) is available at www.baronsplayers.org
We've taken a different approach to the play from most performances by treating it as a straight comedy and not as a "problem play". Drawing on the strengths of the SCA made this possible, plus a fabulous group of actors who were willing to try anything the director asked of them.
For the event on the 9th, we'll have four brief talks to give background that will help explain how we constructed our approach to the play.

Gwendolyn of Middlemarch - stock characters of Commedia dell'Arte
Cassandra Grey - the basis for her costume designs
Catrin o'r Rhyd For - how nuns behaved badly in Italy in period
A lovely feast by Lord Alexei will be prepared.

From Route 128 (either direction) take exit 33B onto Route 3A North. Stay in the left lane.
Go about 1.3 miles (you will pass the football field). Take a left at the next set of lights onto Bedford
Street (you will see the town common). Go 1 block. Take the first left at the fork onto Lexington Street and park in the lot at the Church.
